Skating under the Stars

Something romantic to do in the winter time is ice skating. There is only on place in North Carolina that I know you can ice skate and that is in Concord. It is a small place called the Speed Park right outside of Concord Mills that also has other attractions such as go karting and mini golf. When you get your tickets, your skate rental gets included in that. The ice skating is open from November 18th until January 18th.
I’ve never been ice skating there but I have done the other attractions there. Mine and Taylor’s first date was going go kart racing there. While Taylor and I were still talking we made a deal that he would try eggnog because he never had and I would try ice skating. By the time we were going to go ice skating there it had already closed for the season. This past November I got Taylor to hold up to his part of the deal of trying eggnog. This means that I have to try ice skating sometime before the season is up.
Making a little deal like this is a great way to get you and your significant other to try something new. Although you might be scared they will be right there to catch you if you fall and hold your hand the whole way.

Concert Time

Something simple that you guys can do is go to a concert. When you’re in a relationship you almost always agree on something and music is one of the easiest things to agree on. Sometimes its not always the same artists but it’s the same genre. I know in the summer time a lot of people go to outdoor concerts. In North Carolina there are lots of arenas and outdoor pavilions that concerts are held at. There are also small bars that are well known for hosting country artists. Johnny and Junes is in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and it’s a small country bar. They will either play their house band, host smaller artists, and also well-known artists. The house band is pretty good, they do cover songs as well as originals. Another country bar in North Carolina is Coyote Joe’s in Charlotte. They switch between a house band and a DJ but they typically stick to country music. It has more line dancing then Johnny and June’s does and is larger.

Taylor took me to the Parmalee concert at Johnny and June’s in February. It was one of the most fun nights I’ve ever had. With being under 21 I couldn’t drink while we were there and I’m a shy person out in public. Taylor got me to dance with is something that no one can get me to do. Going to concerts at these little venues don't cost nearly as much as when you go to the larger arenas. Tickets can be as cheap as 15 dollars a person which is not expensive at all for a concert. You might even be lucky enough to get a picture with the band!
